ちょっと事情があって，これまで担当していなかった農学部1年生向け生物学基礎１の神経系・感覚系の回の講義資料の準備をしています。
例年の先生は指定している教科書であるキャンベル生物学準拠で教えていらしたのですが，せっかく本来の阿部の専門分野を話すのですから，少し教科書のままではわかりにくいところなどアレンジを加えつつ，お話しようとネットで参考になる動画を漁っていました。
以下にある動画が漁った中では難易度，説明のためのvisualizationともに素晴らしく，思わず紹介したくなりました。
Introduction to Neuroscience
米国University of WashingtonのBing Wen Brunttonさんが公開しているオンライン講義動画。神経細胞の電気的興奮性の基礎〜シナプス伝達〜感覚生理の基礎〜運動制御〜海馬，と学部レベルの神経科学入門として抑えるべきところが網羅されている動画です。
３年ほど前に公開された動画シリーズで前から知っていたのですが，４週間ほど前に

- History of Neuroscience and AI: How do brains and AI learn
- History of Neuroscience and AI: Visual cortex and the Birth of Modern AI
という動画が３篇ほど追加されており，それには1950年代に作られた神経細胞の興奮性の数理モデルから現代のリカレントニューラルネットにいたるまでの歴史・ポイントが簡潔に紹介されていました。
動画内で使われている資料がとにかく美麗！
Bingさんの喋る英語は早口なので英語に慣れていないひとはちょっと聞き取りが大変かもしれませんが，最近のYouTubeは字幕も自動翻訳もありますので，英語の勉強とも思ってチャレンジしてみてください。

上述のBingさんによるIntroduction to Neuroscienceより更に詳細に神経科学の要点が手書き風アニメーションとともに纏められています。
こちらは専門の教科書を読みつつ，個々の内容の理解を深めるときに視聴するとよいです。

This is an online lecture video series published by Bing Wen Brunton at the University of Washington in the United States. Bing speaks rather quickly, so those who are not used to listening to English may find it a little challenging to follow. However, YouTube now offers subtitles and automatic translation, so I encourage you to give it a try as part of your English practice.
